About Christopher
I did not expect my greatest education to take place while drinking 25-cent coffee at the pharmacy counter in Jarrettsville.
Loyola Blakefield and the University of Richmond provided me with an excellent education, but the lessons that have had the greatest impact on my life and career came from my father.
From 1997 to 2005, when our office was located in Harford County, my dad and I would start each morning together over a cup of coffee. During those daily conversations, he taught me that integrity and honesty would lead to more success than any investment strategy, sales technique, or business plan ever could.
While I was inspired by my father's success, I also knew I wanted to forge my own path—to help transform a small consulting practice into a comprehensive wealth management firm capable of serving generations of families.
I was often reminded that many second-generation businesses fail. That was never an acceptable outcome. With the strong foundation my father established when he founded the firm in 1978, I set out to expand our capabilities, grow our team, and create an organization that could help clients navigate every stage of their financial lives while staying true to the values on which the firm was built.
Today, as I celebrate more than 30 years as a financial advisor, I am proud of what our team has accomplished. Red Oak Financial Group has grown into a thriving firm serving hundreds of families and businesses, with a talented team of professionals dedicated to helping clients make confident financial decisions and pursue the life they envision. While our size and capabilities have expanded dramatically over the years, our commitment to integrity, honesty, and personal relationships has never changed. I still believe in our motto: "Big enough to serve you, small enough to know you."
A lot has changed over the last three decades. My wife and our three children keep me moving, our firm continues to grow, and I spend much of my time helping develop the next generation of advisors who will carry our values forward. Dad and I no longer make it to coffee every morning, but we still find opportunities to spend time together whenever we can. The price of coffee has certainly gone up since those pharmacy-counter days, but the lessons I learned there continue to guide me every day.
